Making this smoothie is SO easy, friend. Seriously. All you need to do is throw all those ingredients into your blender. You can use fresh pumpkin puree, like my Instant Pot Pumpkin Puree, or canned to make this smoothie. And throw the puree, banana, and the rest of the yummy nutritious ingredients into your blender with a handful of ice. Then just blend until smooth! You can always adjust the consistency if you need to with more ice or more almond milk. Once it’s blended just pour into your glass and top with a little sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice. Voila! Easy pumpkin smoothie ready to enjoy.Tips for making a great smoothie at home
- Use Frozen Fruit. You can use a fresh banana, but frozen fruit helps to make a smooth, creamy smoothie in the end. So frozen is best if you have it!
- Don’t Skip The Nut Butter. Yes it adds great flavor, but also it’s a nutritious way to thicken your smoothie.
- Blend On Low At First. This will depend on your blender and how powerful it is. But it might help to start blending on low at first, then turn it on high to help blend the ingredients more efficiently and quickly.
What makes this smoothie healthy?
This pumpkin smoothie is healthy because it contains all real and natural ingredients! Nothing artificial here. And it’s chock full of nutrients, as well. Pumpkin is rich in Vitamin A, and full of nutrients that can help boost your immunity. Perfect this time of year! And the hemp seeds is an extra dose of healthy fats, omegas, and minerals. And the addition of protein powder means you get additional healthy protein. This smoothie is also naturally sweetened as well with maple syrup, but honey or agave could be used as well. Can I Use A Different Milk?
You definitely can use whatever milk you have on hand. You can use soy milk or coconut milk (not from a can) to keep it still dairy free. But you can use whole, or a low-fat milk if you need to as well! Can I Add Yogurt To This Smoothie?
I haven’t tested it with yogurt, but I think it would be a great addition! It will just change the texture slightly. Can I add Oats?
You absolutely can. I haven’t tested it with oats, but it would add additional fiber and protein! Oats will definitely thicken the smoothie, so you may need to adjust the consistency by adding more milk. Can I use a different sweetener?
I love this smoothie with maple syrup because I think pumpkin and maple just pairs so wonderfully together. But I think honey or agave would be a wonderful substitution, but I haven’t tested it with either. Can I double this recipe?
You definitely can! However, blending it all at once will just depend on how big your blender is. You may need to do this in two batches. Can I Make This Ahead Of Time?
You can make this ahead of time and store in your fridge for 1-2 days. Or try freezing it! You can pour the smoothie into an ice cube tray and then when ready to enjoy pop the pumpkin ice cubes into a glass with a lid (like a mason jar) and let it sit in your fridge for an hour until they’ve melted. And just give it a shake!TOOLS TO MAKE THIS pumpkin SMOOTHIE
