About me
If you’re like me, you probably want to eat healthy and feed your family well, but what does that even mean these days? You are confused by all the conflicting health and diet information out there and the thought of figuring it all out on your own is really overwhelming.
Well, you’re not alone.
Certified Nutrition Coach
Having written about nutrition and wellness for the past 10 years, I am thrilled to have completed my Nutrition Coach certification through Precision Nutrition (CNC PN-L1). I am also a licensed affiliate of the evidence-based nutrition program, the Three Pillars Method. This formal training has helped solidify my understanding of nutrition and eating in a healthy, balanced and sustainable way.
Eating well doesn’t have to be so complicated and it definitely shouldn’t be boring, bland or trendy. A balanced and diverse diet is the staple of good health and cooking up interesting but approachable meals at home is one of the most beautiful ways to experience family and build community.
Passionate About Protein & Fiber!
It’s my mission to get more families and especially middle age women, to center their meals around more nutritious whole foods. That’s why many of the recipes I share prioritize protein and/or fiber via delicious fruits and veggies.
Balanced & manageable
When you become a member of the Howe We Live community, you will develop a balanced & fad-free approach to feeding yourself and your family that will give you peace of mind and the freedom to be creative in the kitchen.
Ten years ago I was in the same spot as you may be today. I knew I wanted to feed my family well, but I just didn’t know where to start. I set off on a journey through reading books, listening to podcasts, and eventually, earning my Nutrition Coach certification. Along the way, through research and trial and error, I made tremendous inroads into discovering a new way to feed my family.
This new way felt balanced, approachable, sane and yes, even healthy. I learned to trust myself, listen to my body, and educate & empower my kids in what it means to eat well, free of fads and trends.
It turns out it really isn’t all that complicated. A balanced plate, but also a balanced life which allows for living life when on vacation or during the holidays, and knowing how to get things “back on track” after those vacations and holidays are over.
